2025 - Supporting non-profits

This year, as part of our ongoing community effort, the gallery is committed to supporting FRIENDS OF ACADIA and the NH FURNITURE MASTERS as two non-profit organizations who align themselves with our mission: A long-standing commitment to educate, stimulate and encourage others through fine art and visual culture.
"In 1986 Friends of Acadia founders envisioned a membership-based and volunteer-powered organization that would translate their love for Acadia into tangible good for the park. For more than three decades, that vision has guided their work—from modest early volunteer projects and small equipment donations, to major achievements such as Acadia Trails Forever, establishing the nation’s first endowed trail system. Drawing more than 3.5 million visitors each year, Acadia is one of the smallest and most vulnerable parks in the U.S. To meet ongoing and new challenges, and address specific needs FOA, with its nearly 5,000 members and philanthropic support, has the resources and flexibility to accomplish things the park cannot do on its own, with an aim to enhance, not replace federal support
The New Hampshire Furniture Masters, a non-profit organization comprised of a group of 20+ fine furniture makers and builders from New England, are committed to preserving the centuries-long tradition of custom furniture making in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont, Maine, and Rhode Island. NHFM is now celebrating their 30th Anniversary in 2025 .. for the past 15 years, the Gallery at Somes Sound has represented a number of its members and will enjoy promoting their 30-year celebration of accomplishments and commitment to educating others of this fine craft of furniture making and design.
The shows this year run May through October and the gallery will donate a portion of its sale proceeds throughout the summer to each of these organizations.
