Joel Avila

Joel Avila completed the rigorous furniture program at Boston's North Bennett Street School in 1990. following graduation, Avila worked in several woodworking shops in Santa Cruz, California before settling on Mount Desert Island in Maine. In 1993 he began working with Joseph Tracy turning his furniture designs into reality. Joe Tracy's unique and graceful style has clearly had an influence on Avila's own tastes as a furniture designer. Avila loves to use forms and details from Arts and Crafts as well as Asian influences.

Joel Avila  established his own small shop in 2011. The joy of unveiling the natural beauty of wood and creating a lasting piece of functional art never gets old and keeps Avila inspired.
